I’m an art school drop out. As a child I always wanted to be an artist but, at college, there were too many distractions and I struggled to sit still long enough to draw. Travelling around Australia in a panel van turned out to be a great plan B.

The nerd in me missed timetables and text books though, so I studied hard at Law and became a Solicitor. It constantly pushed me out of my comfort zone, which is totally what I needed at the time.Three children later I took some time out to be a homemaker. Slowly, slowly the creative thoughts began to sneak back in. Now, the need to draw is back with a vengeance, and I love it!

I choose to draw what I think I’ll enjoy. Portraits will always thrill me because each one is a unique challenge and I don’t just have myself to please. My artwork has come about because I had a fantastic art teacher at school, because I came across a pen and wash course a few years ago that was so enjoyable, two hours passed like two minutes, and because of a massive, growing, urge to do it.

My Story

My artwork has come about partly because of an inherited passion for drawing from my insanely talented mum. A fantastic art teacher at school inspired me further, and I came across a pen and wash course a few years ago that was so enjoyable, two hours passed like two minutes. I just have a massive urge to do it.
